About Kendal

This will be my first year teaching for The Journey and I am thrilled to be able to share my love of writing with our next generation of writers, authors, editors, and reporters. It is my goal to prepare students for their next steps in life whether that be for high school level writing, college, careers or their own personal writing. We will examine writing for purpose, literary themes and structures, literary analysis, research based strategies, essay responses, and creating five paragraph essays to name a few. All units will be closed with the student's own writing as they develop their skills and voice in the written word. When I am not teaching at The Journey, I can be found at home reading or writing, homeschooling my three children(Logam , Oakley, and Porter) or traveling with my family.
