About Chelsea
Chelsea Wesley NEW TEACHER - Elementary Physical Education
This will be my first-year teaching at Journey, and I am so excited to be offering physical education to first and second grade students! I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. I have worked in the education field in some capacity for the past 17+ years. I’ve also been a summer camp counselor, a nanny, and a music team leader for VBS and Sunday school. I’m looking forward to taking all my experience and incorporating it into a fast-paced, musically charged, fun and dynamic class! God created our bodies to run, skip, dance, jump and play and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing in class—all while focusing on teamwork, character building and biblical principles! Students will work on and develop physical skills and sportsmanship in a fun, supportive environment, while also learning about the importance of healthy lifestyles and using their bodies as instruments for God. I live in River Falls with my husband, Jeff, and our three kids: Henrik (7.5), Audra (6) and Anders (4). We have been homeschooling our older two for the past year and love the freedom and flexibility it provides! I enjoy spending time in the kitchen and especially love to bake. When I’m not baking, I enjoy reading non-fiction, being outside, strong black coffee, and watching the Green Bay Packers. I also lead music for the Sunday school students at our home church and I co-coordinate our local MomCo chapter.
