About Ingrid

Ingrid Cook - MS: Modern World History/Geography, and HS: German 1

I’m really thankful to be able to continue teaching Middle School History at the Journey Co-op! This will be my 8th year teaching at Journey and my 13th year homeschooling overall. I’m regularly amazed at how there are always new layers and levels of learning that God is just waiting to guide us into, if only we will take the time to seek truth, reflect and ponder. My hope is that I can guide students on their own journeys of gaining knowledge about what has  happened in our world, and to see God’s ever faithful, and ever present, involvement in all of it. My educational background includes a BA in German and Animal Science from UW-River Falls, and an MA in German from UW-Madison. My life experiences include multiple trips to Europe that have been very impactful to me, with a family trip in 1976 that included the [at the time] communist countries of East Germany and Poland, and a visit to both West and East Berlin during the era of the Berlin Wall. I also spent a summer working in  Germany through an internship at a Western horse training facility. I have been teaching at various homeschool co-ops since 2012 because I have come to see that instructing and preparing the next generation is a true privilege and duty that God invites His people to carry out. My husband, Doug, and I have lived in the River Falls area since 1996 and have had the joy (and at times stress!) of homeschooling our own 3 children - Logan (now on to college), Klara (8th grade) and Ian (7th grade) - while also being a part of the Journey co-op. My favorite personal pursuits include reading, praying, traveling, cooking/baking, getting outdoors, working with and riding horses, taking walks with our dogs, traveling and cooking/baking.
