About Adam

I have the incredible privilege of serving as the Lead Pastor at First Covenant Church here in River Falls. More than anything else, I'm passionate about helping people encounter Jesus Christ and learn to live as His disciples. I believe Christians are called to whole-life discipleship, meaning that even our academic endeavors are part of our discipleship journey and can be acts of profound worship - loving God with all our minds - and I bring this perspective into the classroom as I teach. I'm particularly excited to be teaching courses on Logic and Church History as these are two subjects which I really love. I hold a B.A. From UW-Eau Claire (history and philosophy), an M.Div. from Bethel University in St. Paul, and have done additional post-grad work at NorthPark University in Chicago. I have previously served as a youth pastor, a teaching pastor, and spent 15 years with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship helping students and faculty advance and defend the Gospel on universities across the upper Midwest. I've seen firsthand how students with a solid foundation thrive in college and young-adulthood, and how those who lack such a foundation really struggle. As such, I'm passionate about helping young people to be firmly rooted in their faith and knowing how to think critically and reason carefully so that they will be equipped for the challenges and opportunities of life. My wife (Mary) and I live just outside of River Falls with our three boys (Anders, Ivar, & Haakon). As a family, we're unapologetically filled with curiosity, questions, and wonder, and we're addicted to learning; each of us having our own particular area of fascination and interest. My personal hobbies include reading, making music, cooking food, working out, skiing, running, sailing, hunting, and rock climbing with my kids. Mary and I love traveling and exploring new cultures, and we (usually) enjoy building and working on projects together around the house.
