ABOUT THE CLASS

In our Communication Skills class we will learn about diverse ways in which others communicate, acknowledging that God created us with individual differences so we can all learn from each other.

We will break down unspoken “rules” of communication including personal space, body language, voice volume, filtering thoughts before speaking, and taking conversational turns.  

We will also learn about sizes of problems and find solutions as well as identify categories of feelings and calming strategies.  We will discuss growth mindset and practice re-framing how we perceive challenges.

As needed, students will practice speech sounds to be more easily understood.  While specific needs will be targeted, this class will be a good fit for any student.
