EXPLORING CREATION WITH

CHEMISTRY + PHYSICS

This year’s topic for Class 5/6 is Chemistry and Physics! There is a lot to learn and explore under these topics. We will have exciting, fast-moving classes with hands-on activities and projects. Topics include matter, atoms, molecules, laws of motion, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, and MORE. Lots of fun experiments in this course!  

It doesn’t matter if your child learns best through visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or reading and writing-there will be something for everyone in this course! Students will be exposed to American Sign Language (ASL) through ASL vocabulary that relates to topics covered throughout the course too! Covering chemistry and physics now will give students a great head start when they see it again in future years.

We will use Apologia’s Exploring Creation series, which is a favorite science curriculum used by many homeschool families. It is built on a solid creationist foundation, always directs our attention to the amazing character of our Creator God, and incorporates a Charlotte Mason approach using the tools of narration and note booking.  

Homework is optional but strongly encouraged as it reinforces what is covered in class.  Homework will include textbook reading and completing student journal pages during the week. No previous exposure to any of Apologia’s texts is necessary.

1. Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics, Textbook by Jeannie Fulbright. (apologia.com does also offer an audiobook if this works better for your child)
2. Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics, Note booking Journal (Not the “Junior” version)
