This ONLINE (Pre-Recorded videos) Intro to written communications class is ideal for the beginning writer.  We will delve into how to take notes from lectures, organize notes to help with studying, MLA citations, and paper formatting.  We will explore proper short answers and short essay writing, learn about adequate research, and write a research paper from beginning to end.  We will also explore persuasive, narrative, and descriptive writing.  We will also have a poetry unit where we study and create our own poetry.  

Last, but not least, the fan favorite from last year: we will have a short story unit where we will break down all of the elements of fictional literature, learn how to create characters, scenes, and plots for short stories (alternately we also can do a novel study with a literary analysis).  Students will leave with more confidence in their writing and an ability to peer review others' work, edit, and know what to look for when self-editing their own work.
