About Marleen

Hello Journey Families! Some of you may know me from my years of teaching Faith Kids and Awana at Faith Community Church in Hudson. I am excited to be here with you this year teaching Psychology from a Christian Perspective to High School students. My educational background is a Master’s in Social Work (MSSW) from UW-Madison and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Bethel College in St. Paul. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I have worked for over 30 years as a therapist and clinical supervisor serving children, families, adults and couples in a variety of settings with a myriad of issues. I have been homeschooling my daughter for the last 8 years. It has been exciting to watch the Lord direct each path of my career of which homeschooling has been the best and most rewarding experience so far! I look forward to working with and teaching your upper-class students who may have an interest in a helping profession or may want to learn more about themselves. I welcome any student with learning differences and want to partner with parents and students to encourage a positive classroom learning experience.
